Antique Art Nouveau French Belgian Hand Painted Stained Glass Window Wall Panel. What I have to offer for your viewing pleasure here is this beautiful antique French Art Nouveau stained glass window! It is one solid piece of rich white opalescent glass with an enamel painted with a gold, green and cream border. The border and various motifs were actually cut into the glass and then painted so they are slightly inset. It has fabulous ornate floral bouquets in bright & vivid pale pastels rising out of classical fluted vases.
The focal point is a center oval framing a man smoking a pipe in great detail. I've always thought of this as the classic Dutch Boy enjoying his favored tobacco relaxing after a long day. I believe it is Belgian-French in make, the Art Nouveau design is in the Flemish manner and was likely wall mounted instead of used as a window in a restaurant or bar / gentleman's salon. This is an exceptional, unusual and rare piece of Art Nouveau art glass and I have never seen another even remotely like it. My photo's do not do it justice it is absolutely gorgeous in person!
It is not marked anywhere that I have seen. It is in good overall condition for its age with a diagonal crack running the width of the lower third of the panel, I've always assumed it was mounted in this frame to prevent further damage. It measures 61.5" tall by 15.75" wide and is 1 deep or thick.
