RARE MUSEUM QUALITY EARLY 17th C. FLEMISH STAINED GLASS WINDOW PANEL. UNIQUE AND RARE especially as it is NON RELIGIOUS IN DESIGN.
This period of STAINED GLASS WORK - mid 17th c. Is considered by Experts To Be the ZENITH of this sublime art form. & It has been carefully stored, since 1940 by my family. On sale here is one SINGLE PANEL - A Colorful and Dynamic Heraldic Coat of Arms with Orange Fish, which upon further investigatiom were actually two pairs of Sharks. The lower left shark can clearly be seen to have a symbiotic relationship going with a remora.
What was the affiliation of this family's Coat of Arms to the sea? Please note: This panel is in near excellent condition, though after almost 500 years, it is fragile. There is a crack in the narrow outer border of clear glass. It has no effect on the value.Height: 16 1/2" Width: 12 1/4". The item "RARE MUSEUM QUALITY EARLY 17th C.
