Faces, hands, feet and robes on all figures are painted as contour lines with some shadow patina to create depth to the various faces, hands, feet and robes. The same goes for the background rocks and open tombs.
The golden Halo around the Christ is silver stained glass with white Rays. In the blue background directly on Christ Body the rays are etched out of blue glass and silver stained. Every painting process is fired onto the glass.
After completing the painting of the figures and scenery the entire glass panel is covered with patina paint and again fired in a kiln. The reason for covering the entire picture with patina is to achieve a painterly quality of the work. The narrow border is unpainted to separate and emphasize the center portion of the work. This fine panel of stained glass art was fabricated by Master Craftsman Helmut Schardt formally of Long Island New York in 1975. The glass used for this panel is the handblown German antique glass. This is the same type of handblown glass which is still used to create fine stained glass windows for churches and cathedrals, as can be seen in the great Cathedral in Washington, D. All there windows are made by various craftsman in the last century with this handblown German antique glass. Helmut Schardt the Master Craftsman who produced this panel has also worked on some of the windows in the Washington Cathedral. It has been shown to prospective Church clients as example of work which they can have created and produced. Additional questions are welcome, I will answer them to the best to my knowledge. Note; Presently the stained glass panel has only a lead came edge, a wood frame can be custom fabricated for the work, or provide a Light-Box as an alternative for natural lighting. Both options are additionally available with pre- approved quoted added to the price of the stained glass panel. I will offer another 10% reduction in price if this piece is being bought before the listing expires.
