Vintage Stained Slag Leaded Glass Panel Lamp Marked P. H. (Poul Henningsen)
This is a truly unique and fantastic vintage lamp featuring brilliant pink, red and orange slag glass panels in a metal framework. Each panel is donned with two griffin figures. It is marked "P H" at the bottom of each base panel and shade panel (Poul Henningsen). Also note the hand crafted lead cap on the shade. I believe the framework is also lead, as it is very malleable and heavy, and the ornate, 4-legged base is a cast pot metal. The lamp works perfectly lighting up three ways: bottom only, top only and both top and bottom together. The color of the glass really glows when lit, making the griffin figures stand out like dark silhouettes against an orange evening sky. The glass is in great condition with no cracks or breaks. The metal lamp framework is good as well, with only minor distortion and wear. There is one griffin head that is a little scarred up (see last pic), but it is not real noticeable. Also, one tab is missing on the inside of the shade but it still holds the glass firmly. I doubt if the finial is the original.
The lamp measures approximately 19" high by 13" wide (tip to tip of shade). They are held in place by bendable lead tabs and easily reassembled. Don't let this unusual lamp slip away!!!!
